    Meatball Sub Casserole....by C. Wuilantan, La Junta, CO

    1/4 c. mayo or salad dressing
    2 oz. cream cheese, softened
    1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
    Dash pepper
    1# Italian or French bread, sliced 1" thick
    1 1/2 c. shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
    1 1/4# frozen fully cooked Italian meatballs, thawed
    1 jar (24 oz) Bertolli Tomato and Basil sauce
    1/2 c. water
    1 clove garlic, minced

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly coat 3-quart rectangular baking dish with Pam. Set aside.

    In a small bowl, stir together mayo, cream cheese, Italian seasoning and pepper. Spread on one side of bread slices. Cut bread slices into 1 1/2" pieces.

    Arrange bread (mayo mixture side up), in prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup of the mozzarella. Top with meatballs.

    In a medium bowl, stir together sauce, water and garlic. Pour over meatballs. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until heated through. Serves 6.
