Pan Fried Onion Dip:

Yields 2 cups
I've never made this,It sounds excellant,if you love onions as much as we do!

2 large yellow onions
4 Tbls.butter
1/4 c.veg oil
1/4 tsp.ground cayenne pepper
1 tsp.kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
4 oz.cream cheese,softened
1/2 c.sour cream
1/2 c.mayonnaise

Cut onions in half,then slice them into 1/8"thick half rounds(You will have about 3 c.).

Heat butter & oil in a large pan over medium heat.Add onions,cayenne,salt & pepper.Saute 10 minutes.

Reduce heat to med-low & cook stirring occasionally 20 minutes more,til onions are browned & carmelized.Allow onions to cool.

Place cream cheese,sour cream & mayo in bowl & beat with mixer til smooth.Add onions & mix well.Taste for seasonings.Serve at room temperature
