Savory Meatballs:
Serves 12

4 lbs.lean ground beef
4 c.canned tomatoes
2 c.fine bread crumbs
2 eggs
3&1/2 tsp.salt
1&1/2 tsp.ground black pepper
1 tsp.oregano
1 Tbls.finely chopped onion
24 slices bacon
1&1/2 c.sour cream
Mix together beef,2 c.tomatoes,bread crumbs,eggs,salt,pepper,oregano & onion.Form into 24 good-sized(about 3"diameter)meatballs.Wrap each with bacon slice,overlapping bacon carefully.Place meatballs in large flat baking dish so that overlapped bacon is on bottom.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or til bacon is crisp & meatballs done.
Remove from oven & pour off bacon fat.Blend sour cream & remaining 2 c.tomatoes together,pour over meatballs & return to oven.Turn off heat.Serve with rice or egg noodles when sauce is hot.To reheat from refrigerated state,put in 275 degree oven for 30-40 minutes.
