Blackberry French Toast
1 1/2 lb. loaf crusty French Bread, sliced
10 large eggs
1/4 c. sugar = 1 tsp. for sprinkling
1 1/2 c. milk
1/2 pint heavy cream
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
12 oz. bag of frozen blackberries
Preheat oven to 300. Spread slice of bread on baking sheet and turn off oven. Place in oven and leave overnight til bread is dry. Preheat oven to 300. In a large bowl, whisk eggs and 1/4 c. sugar. Add milk and cream. Mix in bread slices. Brush a medium casserole`dish with butter. Put 1/2 of bread mixture in bottom of dish. Arrange berries evenly on bread. Sprinkle berries with sugar. Pat remaining 1/2 of bread mixture on top of berries. Brush rest of melted butter on top of bread. Bake til it rises about 1 inch, about 1 hour. Let cool 10 minutes before cutting.
