Christmas French Toast
16 slices French bread
6 eggs
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 cups eggnog(or buttermilk)
2 TABLESPOONS melted butter
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1. Arrange 8 slices of bread in a single layer in two separate 9x13" pans. Beat the eggs and whisk in sugar, cinnamon, eggnog, butter,and nutmeg. Pour over bread. Turn slices to coat.
2. Refrigerate bread overnight. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Bake bread for 10 mins; turn slices of bread over and bake another 5 mins. Broil briefly; if needed. Serve on a platter with eggs and sausage or bacon.
