Here is another version that is easy, tried and true, delicious, and always get's rave reviews!
PECAN PIE CAKE
1 box DH butter recipe yellow cake mix
1 large egg
1/2 cup melted butter
1 & 1/2 cups white Karo Syrup
3 eggs
1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1 t. pure vanella
1 & 1/2 cups chopped, toasted pecans
Mix cake mix, 1 egg, and melted butter together well.
Reserve 2/3 cups of this batter.
Spread the rest of the batter into a well greased & floured 9 X 13 inch pan and bake in a preheated 325 degree oven for 15 minutes or until lightly golden browned.
Mix reserved 2/3 cup batter with syrup, 3 eggs, brown sugar, vanilla and pecans.
Pour this filling on top of crust and bake about 50 -60 minutes at 325.
