PEAR CHUTNEY
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/3 cup golden raisins
1/4 cup crystallized ginger, thinly sliced
1/4 cup onions, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, thinely sliced
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
3 firm bosc pears, peeled,cored and chopped
1/2 cup cranberries
In a 3 qt saucepan over meduim heat, bring the maple syrup and vinegar to a boil. Reduce the heat to meduim.Add the raisins,ginger,onions,garlic,mustard seeds,and pepper. Mix well.
Stir in the pears and cook for about 15 minutes, or until the pears are soft and just beginning to lsoe their shape. Add the cranberries and cook an additionally 5 minutes.
