One Of The Doctors Made This Yesterday For Pot Luck, She Substituted Penne Pasta For The Angel Hair Pasta, But It Was Really Good.

    Angel Chicken
    Serves 6-8

4-6 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts, Cubed
    1 (8oz) Pkg Cream Cheese
1 Can Cream Of Mushroom Soup
1 Pkg Dry Italian Dressing Mix
    1/2 Cup Dry White Wine
    4 Chopped Green Onions
    2 Tbs Butter
Cook Angel Hair Pasta, Set Aside. Put Chicken In Crockpot. In A Bowl, Add Cream Cheese, Soup And Butter, Microwave Until Melted, Stir In Remaining Ingredients And Pour Over Chicken. Cook 6 Hrs On Low. Serve Over Hot Angel Hair Pasts.

She Mixed The Pasta In The Crockpot Just Before Serving.

Is there any substitute for the wine? Have to drive too far to get it around here.

I've always heard you can sub. broth for the wine. I bet chicken broth would sub in this one just fine. Or even vegetable broth.

Sounds great! Copying and pasting right now! I think I'll try it tomorrow as I think I have all of the ingredients on hand.

Only one question, did the Doc tell you how much butter?

"Add Cream Cheese, Soup And Butter"

                  Thanks,

                    Re: Angel Chicken

I have never cooked with any kind of wines. What kind (Brand) of white wine would be ok to use? I've seen other yummy looking recipes that include red/white wines and have passed them up, again not knowing what kind works.

                      Re: Angel Chicken

OOPS!!! I put water instead of butter. I changed the recipe.

I've never cooked with wine either. I want to make a scallop recipe that calls for wine. I bought some small, maybe 8 or 12oz, bottles from United, in a 4 pack, to save for recipes.

                      I'm not a wine drinker.

Ok, I ran and checked to see if I have all the ingredients and I do. I don't use chicken breast so I usually sub for thighs. Went to freezer and only have legs. I'm going to put everything in the crockpot (except pasta) and get it cooking.

                        Can't Wait!

Nu - not a wine drinker either - gives me headaches but I do enjoy cooking with it.

Engel - butter amt is stated in the ingredients.
